Parish Councils 

Parish Consultation: Newman Parish has a pastoral council and finance council that assist the pastor in the spiritual life and financial stewardship of the parish.  Newman Parish also has four committees following the La Crosse Diocesan structure that meet for specific purposes.  If interested in serving on any of the committees or councils please contact the pastor.


Pastoral Council: is a consultative body to assist the pastor in the spiritual life of the parish.  


Finance Council: assists the pastor in the financial stewardship of the parish.

 

Family Life Committee:  This committee is charged with fostering family life and marriage, the social life of the parish and hospitality, care for the sick and homebound, youth ministry, vocations to priesthood and consecrated life, pre-marriage preparation and marriage enrichment.

 

Sacred Worship Committee:  This committee is concerned with decoration and set up for the various seasons in the church year, with music and rituals, and with the overall liturgical life of the parish. The committee is also charged with promoting the devotional life of prayer among members of the parish. 

Education Committee: Helps the Pastor, Campus Minister, and Parish Council to foster the educational aspects of the parish. Adult education, RCIA, catechesis and ecumenism would all fall under the oversight of this committee.

Peace and Justice Committee:  Areas of concern for this committee include, respect for human life, care of the needy and imprisoned, pastoral care of migrants and refugees, just structures within the parish, parish giving and stewardship, and fostering greater understanding of Church teaching on social justice.
