About Newman

We are a Catholic Parish in the Diocese of La Crosse of three hundred households from the Eau Claire area.  Newman Parish was established by Bishop Freking in 1969.  We are unique among the Catholic Parishes in Eau Claire in that we have the specific mission of providing campus ministry to the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College.

Newman Parish is a member of the Ecumenical Religious Center which was established in 1971 to be a central place of Christian ministry on campus.  The Ecumenical Religious Center is surrounded by the UWEC campus and we are located across from Zorn Arena and next to Hibbard Hall.  University Lutheran Church is also a member of the ERC.

Within the ERC you will find multiple chapels, student study spaces, parish offices, and gathering areas.  Newman Parish strives to enrich the spiritual lives of its members and college students through prayer, learning, community, and service.  We invite you to visit us at the ERC and join us for worship!
