Construction Season Begins

This summer the ERC, Inc board has approved three major projects for the capital improvement of the ERC.

1. The pitched roof on the Centrum (Chapel) will be shingled with steel shingles and all exposed sufaces on the inset on the south east corner will be clad in metal. Asher Enterprises will do this portion of the construction. This work should begin shortly after Memorial Day.

2. The flat roof on the rest of the building will be replaced with the work being done by Royal Construction and LP Roofing. This will include a new gray PVC roofing to reduce summer heat gain. The AC coolant lines will also be re-insultated and sheilded from the sun for energy savings. This work will begin when the pitched roof is completed.

3. Nearly the entire first floor of the ERC lounges and Newman offices will be recarpeted with a high density, low nap floor covering. The hallway from the double metal doors down to the Lutheran pastor's office will receive a new covering of ceramic tile as well as the small stairway going down to the side door. This work is being done by Swanson Flooring and Royal Construction.

The combined cost of these projects is $65,000. The Newman Parish raised most of these monies in a recent capital campaign. Please indicate "New Roof" on the memo line of your check. Your contribution is tax deductible.

Welcome Students!

UWEC and CVTC students are always welcome at Newman Events. Check this page for events you might be interested in throughout the year. And, remember, all students are welcome to join us every Monday evening during the regular academic year, at 6 in the lower level of the ERC for information, fun, food, fellowship. Registering with Newman

Full time students at UWEC or CVTC can always register with us--ONLINE. Just follow the links to the left and you can let us know you are coming to Eau Claire during the fall of 2007. This will help us know you are here, help us contact you and give us a record of your participation should you need a recommendation as a Baptismal or Confirmation sponsor.

Mass Times:

Saturday: 5 pm at the ERC, Sunday 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Hospital Chapel, 11:30 am and 5:30 pm at the ERC. The Sunday evening liturgy will be suspended for the summer on 18 May.

A Chance to Get Involved

During the first two full weekends of September ( 6/7& 13/14) we will give everyone a chance to get more involved in our community life. Sign ups were available for liturgical ministers, catechists, help out at Community Table and a number of other opportunities. There will be a summer sign up during May.
